Suspected cultists kill young man in Anambra

Gunmen suspected to be cultists have killed a younger man on the fashionable Aroma Junction, Awka, Anambra State capital.


It was gathered that the gunmen intercepted the younger man below Aroma flyover on Wednesday afternoon, January 5, pursued and shot him severally within the head and chest until he was confirmed lifeless.


An eyewitness at Aroma mentioned she was at her enterprise website when she all of the sudden noticed younger males pursuing one other man.


She mentioned that when she noticed them pursuing the person she thought they have been his brothers who needed to arrest him, perhaps for operating away from their household.


She mentioned that when she began listening to gunshots then she needed to run into hiding in order that they won’t accuse her of seeing their faces as a result of she was shut.


“I’ve been at this aroma for years I’ve not witnessed this type of factor,” she mentioned.


Another eyewitness Ngozi Nwora who virtually fell unconscious mentioned that she was head to head with them after they dragged the younger man and began taking pictures him.


According to her, she ran for her life as a result of she doesn’t need stray bullets to hit her.


“This is unbelievable, I can’t get myself now. This is horrible. With what I noticed as we speak, there isn’t a worth for all times in our system once more,” she mentioned.


Also, one other witness who merely recognized himself as IG mentioned the killing might be linked to a cult warfare occurring in Awka over time. 


Spokesman for Anambra State police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident mentioned preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was cult-related warfare.
