Suspected cultists kill two young men in Anambra

Gunmen suspected to be cultists have killed two unidentified younger males in Awka, the Anambra State capital. 


It was gathered that the incident occurred round 11:am on Tuesday, September 21, reverse Udoka housing property, alongside Enugu-Onitsha expressway, near the NNPC mega petrol station, Awka.


A witness mentioned the victims have been shot at shut vary by their assailants earlier than they drove off. 


“I noticed them. They simply shot the 2 guys who have been businessmen within the space and drove off. Nothing was taken from them. I think it’s a case of assassination or enterprise rivalry.” the witness informed The Nation. 


However, spokeperson of the State Police Command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident mentioned the killings was because of two rival cult clashes.


He defined that the gunmen who drove in a Mercedes 190 automobile, shot their victims who have been strolling on the road round 12.30 pm and drove off to an unknown vacation spot.


“Preliminary investigation showed it was a case of rival cult war.” Ikenga acknowledged. 


He mentioned the state Commissioner of Police, CP Tony Olofu, had ordered the CPS Division Awka, to start the investigation.


Meanwhile, the corpses of the unidentified males have been faraway from the scene by males of the Police Command.
