Rivers police ban use of sirens and spy plate numbers

Rivers State Police Command has introduced a ban on use of sirens, revolving lights, spy and coated plate numbers by unapproved and unauthorized individuals.

 

According to the state police commissioner Friday Eboka, the ban grew to become essential as some persons are committing crimes within the state with the listed objects. 

 

Noting that the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali ha earlier warned towards the abuse and indiscriminate use of sirens, revolving lights, spy and coated plate numbers, with out acceptable approvals, Eboka added {that a} workforce has been set-up to implement the ban. 

 

The command’s spokesperson, Nnamdi Omoni stated a taskforce headed by ACP Jepthan Nengi has been arrange to make sure full compliance to the ban.

 

Omoni reiterated that no effort will likely be spared in implementing the ban and warned defaulting individuals to dismantle the prohibited amenities from their automobiles inside one week.
