Police nab three suspected cultists in Ogun

Ogun state police command has arrested three suspected cultists on the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

 

The suspects recognized as Abdul Jelili, Oluwatosin Olanrewaju and Yussuf Odesanya, have been nabbed whereas making an attempt to power their manner into the venue of an occasion organised by the graduating college students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic within the state capital.

 

The state police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi mentioned; 

 

“The safety personnel first arrested Abdul Jelili with a domestically made pistol loaded with a stay cartridge, whereas making an attempt to power his manner into the venue.”

 

Oyeyemi added that the Divisional Police Officer of Kemta division, Sunday Opebiyi, who was on the scene along with his males, noticed the 2 remaining suspects transferring in a suspicious method and ordered that they need to be searched. 

 

When the bag they have been with was searched, one other domestically made pistol and 5 stay cartridges have been recovered. 

 

The state police spokesperson added; 

 

“On interrogation, the three suspects, who should not college students of any establishment have been unable to offer a passable account of their mission within the place and the way they arrive concerning the weapons discovered with them.”

 

Preliminary investigation revealed they’re a part of the hoodlums disturbing the peace of Abeokuta in current time. They have been mentioned to be related with a collection of armed theft and cult-related circumstances within the city.

 

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
