Panic as unknown assailants stab head teacher to death, kill shop owner and dumped his corpse inside refrigerator in Maiduguri

At least two individuals have been killed in two separate assaults by unknown individuals in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital on Sunday evening, October 10.


It was gathered that the primary incident occured at London Ciki space of Maiduguri, the place a store proprietor was killed and his corpse dumped inside a fridge whereas all the products within the retailer have been carted away by the assailants. 


In the second incident, one Babagana Ahmed Gaidam, the top trainer at Kanuri Mega School Bulumkuttu, was stabbed to dying by unknown individuals at his residence in Bullumkutu Abuja, at about 10pm. 


The Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Mr Jubril Muhammed, who confirmed the incident, mentioned that the union acquired the information about Babagana’s dying with deep shock.


Muhammed mentioned that the police have been knowledgeable about and have been already investigating and dealing towards unravelling these behind the mindless killing


According to a report by one Hamza Suleiman, many different incidents associated to theft and snatching off handsets related to hoodlums had occured round Ajilari, Baga Road and Modugamari inside the previous few weeks.


These incidents had left many residents speculating that repentant Boko Haram militants could also be behind the killings and random felony actions.


A senior police officer, who confirmed the incidents, mentioned the general public committing most of these crimes are hoodlums.


“Some of them disguise as perssengers in tricycles to rob their victims of their valuables. Some will monitor customers who went to withdraw money from the bank or ATM and go after them. We have arrested some of the robbery gang who robbed ATMs within the metropolis. Luck ran out with them when they abandoned the vehicle use for the crime. Be rest assured that the police will leave no stone unturned to get the culprits and prosecute them. So people should be calm and go about their normal activities.” he mentioned. 


The officer additionally urged the residents within the state to be cautious of permitting criminals unusual faces who look suspicious to try of their midst by reporting to the police so as to not trigger havoc to peaceable residents.
